SERMON ON THE MOUNT
Jesus’ most famous sermon shows us the attitude the applications and the actions of a Christian. In these three chapters we see over 20 practical topics of which we can follow Christ. These are not grey areas; these are the obvious ways that Christ followers live in order to show Christ that they love Him.
Sermon On The Mount Part 12: Firm Foundation (Matthew 7:24-29)
If you take the sermon on the mount, if you take the teachings of Jesus seriously and apply them to your life then when the storms of this life come against you, you will remain standing strong. And when your life comes to an end, if you've built your life on the foundation of Jesus and his teachings, the wrath of God will not come against you; your eternal soul will stand strong through all of eternity. That my friends is what I call a firm foundation. But, if you don't listen to the teachings of Jesus and if you don't apply them to your lives then when the storms of life come against you, you will crumble beneath the waves. And when this life is over, the wrath of God will come against you and destroy you for all eternity. The only thing that will keep us standing strong in this life and through all eternity is a firm foundation built on Jesus Christ.

Sermon On The Mount Part 11: The Narrow Path (Matthew 7:13-23)In the end it all boils down to which path you are on. The problem is that a lot of us will think we are one path only to find out at the last minute that we've been on another. By that time it will be too late. So how do we know? How can we know if we truly are on the narrow path that leads to eternal life or the broad path that leads to destruction? We will know and be known by our fruit and by our walk. So first we must determine which path we are on and then when we are assuredly on the right path we must help others who have wandered from the path to make their way back as well. This is called accountability. When we see those who call themselves Christians falling off the narrow way, we must lovingly and graciously show them the error of their way and gently lead them back to the path. Otherwise we are hanging them out to dry. The Christian motto should be that of the Rangers; no man left behind. Christians don't let their friends wander into eternity without Christ.

Righteous judgment is in love and for the concern of accountability and discipleship, unrighteous ungodly judgment is self-righteous and sinful, and we will be held accountable for how we judge others in this manner. When we unrighteously judge others we misjudge God's authority, we misjudge others as beneath us, and we misjudge ourselves as righteous.

Sermon On The Mount Part 9: Overcoming Anxiety (Matthew 6:25-34)If you are struggling with anxiety and worry and fear can you allow Jesus to overcome that with his care for you? Can you hand your anxiety over to Christ? 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all of our cares on Jesus because he cares for us. One, do you truly believe that God cares for you? Look at the way he cares for nature. Look at the way he cares for seemingly unimportant things like birds and flowers. Do feel that he cares for you even more? Look at how he has sent his son to die for you on the cross. Guys, God loves us more than we could ever know. He cares for you and your needs. Two, are you seeking him first? If you are trying to do it in your own strength then there is cause to worry. We will mess it up. But if you are seeking him first he assures us that he will meet all of our needs. Don't put your faith in you and your abilities, put your faith in the one who had sustained the universe and holds the world in his hands. Third, Worry is dumb. It doesn't help, it only hurts. It empties today of its strength. You can't do anything helpful by worry. You can do a lot though with faith. Worry almost always assumes the lies that God either doesn't care about us or that he is unable to help us.

God takes this very seriously. Good thing he tells us how to handle such anger through reconciliation. If at anytime you are upset over someone's sin towards you or towards God you must go to them one on one and deal with it like adults. Stop playing little childish "he said, she said" games with one another and find the love you have for one another in the love you have for the savior.

Jesus has fulfilled the law and still wants us to live according to it. He fulfilled it by coming as the Messiah and proving such by fulfilling over 456 unique prophecies and doing small miracles such as... raising from the dead. He fulfilled it by keeping the law perfectly; meaning he never sinned and his enemies admitted as much. He fulfilled it by paying our sin debt by dying in our place on the cross. He has fulfilled the law completely! But that doesn't mean that we no longer have any use of the law. Just because we aren't beholden to the law for salvation doesn't mean that we shouldn't want to live according to it in order to worship our Lord. If Jesus has saved you, why would you not want to love him the way he wants to be loved? He clearly wants to be loved by us through an adherence to His word. The Law shows us our sin and need to be saved. Jesus fulfills the Law by forgiving us and being our savior

When our hearts are aligned with the Beatitudes then our lives will be Salt & Light in a dry and dark world. That is why we've been called to be salt that preserves the morality of the world and light which shows the Gospel to the world. We have an influence one way or another. Will you use your influence to draw people to Christ's glory or not?
