What is baptism?
Baptism is a symbolic gesture which shows the world that you have become a Christian. It is an outward sign of an inward work. It is a public proclamation of faith. Baptism doesn't save you. Baptism is what we do in worship after we have been saved. They symbolic nature of baptism is explained to us in Romans 6:3-4, "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
What do I need to do to be baptized?
At Stone Creek, baptism is as simple as signing up, meeting with the pastor, being affirmed in your sincere faith and commitment to Christ, having your testimony recorded, and picking a date.
What will it be like?
Our church is small and we don't have a "baptismal." We have a small 6ft trough that is the perfect size. You will need to wear dark clothes, bring a change of clothes and a towel. After watching your testimony video, the pastor will have you sit in the trough and hold your nose and he will dunk you backwards. After you have been baptized you will be helped to the restroom to change.
