Blessed In Affliction
Even though Joseph was afflicted with the hatred of his brothers, their conspiracy to murder him, being thrown into the pit, and being sold into slavery we get this statement; "but the Lord was with him." Again, after he is falsely accused of rape and then thrown into prison we see; "but the Lord was with him." Joseph was put through the wringer and yet the Lord blessed him, prospered him, and increased his position each time. We will all go through trials and affliction. Many of us live in constant affliction of some kind. But in the midst of that we are being blessed. Can you see the blessing or are you merely only consumed with seeing your afflicted state? Stop focussing on the affliction and see that the Lord is with you and you are blessed.
