Labor of Love
The love that Jacob had for Rachel prompted him to work for her without regard for the length and toll of the work itself. To him, those seven years seemed like days. Again, when Laban tricked him and married off his oldest daughter, Leah, instead of Rachel, Jacob agreed to work another seven years under Laban for Rachel. All while, Laban was tricking him and mistreating him. But Jacob stayed the course without complaint. Why? Because he was compelled with a great love. Our love for Christ should mimic Jacob's love for Rachel. We should pursue him, seek him, gladly work for him, find our satisfaction in ministry for him, and stay the course no matter what for him! Does your love for Christ compel you to work in these ways for the Lord?
